



Much has been made of the tragic death of Tulsa Drillers hitting coach Mike Coolbaugh Sunday night at Dickey-Stephens Park. I can tell you, from being there and seeing with my own eyes, it still gives me chills today.
I've sat down several times and tried to write about it, but for some reason I still can't set the scene like I did in an email I wrote to a cousin late Sunday night when everything was fresh on my mind...
According to what I hear, the final Harry Potter book will begin selling at 12:01 a.m. Saturday. (Actually, most of what I hear say it'll go on sale Friday. I guess not everyone learned to tell time the same way I did.)
I could care less about Potter. But I couldn't think of anything else to write about.

Here's a couple of quick hitters brought on by thoughts I had while reading various things I've found around the Internets today.
• Apparently this kid in the UK purchased himself a Playstation 2 on the eBays and when the package arrives, it doesn't include the two games he was promised. Instead it contains more than $90 grand in cash. He and his parents turned the money into the police.
There's not really much more to say than everything that's been said on message boards, radio shows, TV shows, Web sites, in newspapers and by just about every resident of the state of Arkansas.

The fans aren't happy. The football program may be in worse shape than it was a year ago coming off of a losing season. The basketball team blows out ranked teams, then looks absolutely horrible in losing to winless teams on the road.
It's probably the first time in the history of the school that fans have been so ready for baseball season.
And there's always track.
Or, just concentrate on the Bears and Sugar Bears.
