NBA All-Star Saturday

Thanks to this 'special performance' by Andrea Bocelli (some international recording sensation that nobody knows), this will be my last blog entry ever, as I am about to nap in the back yard until frostbite consumes my body.

Excellent zoom-in of his nose hair there at the end, too.

Okay, good thing I didn't follow through with those plans, because I would've been extremely upset if I'd have missed that dunk by Iggy. Awesome stuff. Just when you think nobody has anything hot and original left, he breaks us off with that.
Anybody remember when he was going to be a Razorback? Signed and everything. Then Nolan called for the tanks and off he went to 'Zona.

----------
Nate Robinson now holds the career record for most dunk attempts in a single dunk contest, with 193.

---------

Overall a pretty good contest, even if the 23023093240923 missed dunks kind of killed the competition. At one point I thought Nate was getting shafted when Iggy got the high score to force OT. Then in OT when Nate sent me into a coma, Iggy ultimately got screwed. Great dunk by Robinson, but there's got to be some sort of penalty for taking a fortnight to complete a dunk.

And now some chat excerpt between myself and reader/WVIAC correspondent ManDingo, whose comments appear from time to time on this blog.

JG:boy get off Iggy
MD: what do you do in the finals after that though, that was the [ish]
JG: yeah I don't know man ... a somersault?
MD: im waiting for nate to pull that out
JG: oooooooohhhh!!
MD: im living for the tyronn lue reaction shots right now too
JG: instead we get catatonic Quentin Richardson
... (While Nate Robinson is putting America to sleep) ...
JG: wake me up when this is over, alright?
MD: that was good, i dont know if it was a 50
MD: this might be disastrous
JG: Spud is going to get KO'd
MD: heh
MD: OHHH BAY BEE!
JG: this is like the Montreal screw job of dunk contests
MD: haha French Judge Kenny Smith changes his card
JG: @#)(*#@$()*#@$)(#*@
MD: that was great hang time
JG: with all due respect ... do a layup
MD: yawn
MD: i hate the no-miss rule, or whatever you want to call it
JG: it's not every year the dunk contest cuts into the local news
MD: yeah, no doubt
MD: the fix is on
JG: you should at least get a 1/10th of a point deduction for each missed attempt
