EVANSVILLE, Ind. — While attending the Sugar Bears shootaround I noticed a few interesting things about the arena.
Then promptly took photos of them for this blog.
Without further adieu (and 'cause I have nothing else clever to write) here they are:

So, last night we saw Mr. Sloan's hall of fame portrait, today we saw his retired jersey. It's interesting that they don't just hoist a banner with the number up or a replica jersey. They hoist a banner with a drawing of a jersey and the number.
Of the three retired numbers at the Roberts Stadium the first two feature t-shirt style jerseys – a UE staple until the mid-'90s – and the last retired number is on the typical tank-top style jersey.

One of the more interesting sponsors of Evansville hoops is the Fifth Third Bank. This bank's not as good as the First Bank or even the Fourth Second Bank, but I tell you what... it's better than the Sixth Fourth Bank.
One might ask where you can find the Fifth Third Bank. Well, that's simple, it's right across the street from the First Bank on the corner of Third Street next to the Cinema 6.

Aside from the thuggish name of T.R.U. Event Rental, this sponsor makes me wonder something else. Just what kind of events do they rent.
"Yeah, I'm going to need a birthday party for about three days, and I might take it out of state."

Web sites are great. And there's nothing better than stamping your Web site on just about everything, because maybe people will have it ingrained into their heads and when they get back to their computers just type in the URL and see what they get.
Well, when they're laid out like the smgevansville.com address is up there it just makes it sort of hard to read. The best way to display a freakin' Web site address is straight across. Way to go. That's probably a lot of cash being spent right there to make your Web site name extremely hard to read.
Alright, time to take a little nap and get good and rested for a night of work back at the Roberts Center.
Stay tuned to getoffus.com for photos and the game recap.
