Can Billy Packer please get off the officials? I mean, c'mon buddy you're paid to analyze the game, not point out every call an official misses.
We know officials aren't perfect, some way less perfect than others. And I'm not going to say you should never trash an official. If they're missing calls to the point of the game getting out of hand, then you can pick on them a bit.
If their calls all seem to be horribly one-sided, then go for it. But when they're letting 'em play (such as in an NCAA Tournament) and some things that probably should be called fouls are let go on both ends – don't complain about it.
Especially those that are on national TV and are supposed to explain the game to us, not the officiating.
Packer and Jim Nantz need to go, I feel like they've become way to arrogant. I'm not opposed to a little cockiness and swagger, but I like a pair of announcers you can get with. A pair that seems cool enough to hang out with and talk some hoops.
These two act like they're too good for the media hospitality room. I bet they don't subject themselves to the free feast that most sportswriters and radio personalities love. One, because of the free food, but also because of the great conversations that can be hand in those rooms. Packer and Nantz make their way back to some ritzy restaurant and have an overpriced meal and talk about the stock market.
As great as CBS' coverage of this tournament is, they're A announcers are by far the worst they have.
