Jens Voigt is probably my favorite cyclist of all-time. I haven’t been following the sport for long, but it doesn’t take long to grow fond of this guy.
It probably doesn’t hurt that he’s German. My mom is German, so Germany means a lot to me and I always find myself rooting for German athletes.
Unfortunately, Voigt says he’s going to retire after one more season. (I’ll believe it when I see it.) He is getting long in the tooth, but I’ll miss him. Surely, he’ll be doing some commentary somewhere. Who better to have providing analysis of the biggest races, right?
Anyway, Trek has hooked him up with a custom-painted Madone for his last season. It’s pretty sweet. Check out this gallery from VeloNews.
